About the festival

The Festival is a collaboration between students and staff from the Department of Classics and Ancient History, and Warwick  Classics Society, supported by the Warwick Arts Centre and by various partners who have sponsored our performances.

We have produced the Ancient Drama Festival at Warwick every year since 2015 (except during the pandemic in 2021) performing in front of full houses of school pupils, their teachers, students and classics enthusiasts.

As well as the theatre performances, the Festival includes lectures and seminars from academics of the Classics and Ancient History department. Our goal is to bring Ancient Theatre to a wider audience, encouraging and inspiring the next generation of students. Browse resources.

Each year we add to our lectures, performances and bitesize resources exploring themes and topics new and old.  We have many opportunities for you to get involved and if you have any questions please get in touch with us using the details further down the page.
